The Story Behind X-Men Apocalypse:
In December 2013, Singer announced the upcoming X-Men film, titled X-Men: Apocalypse. Acting as a sequel to X-Men: Days of Future Past, Singer is attached to direct the film from a script by Simon Kinberg, Dan Harris, and Michael Dougherty. According to Singer, it will focus on the origin of the mutants. Kinberg said that it will take place in 1983 and will complete a trilogy that began with X-Men: First Class. The film will star James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, Evan Peters, Oscar Isaac, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp, Rose Byrne, Ian McKellen, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Ben Hardy, Lana Condor, Olivia Munn and Lucas Till. Principal photography is scheduled to commence in April 2015 in Montreal, Canada, for a May 27, 2016 release.
