EU To Ban Heirloom Seeds and Criminalize Unregistered Gardens

After America, a recent new bill has been stealthily making its way through the approval process and looks to become the law of Europe’s new ways in the near future.

This new law would undermine efforts of people to be self sufficient by growing their own food. Under the law of the bill, growing your own food is considered a privilege that can be eliminated by the government at any time.

Also, those “registering” to grow food, even for free, would not be able to receive authorization if they do not comply with food production rules as outlined by Codex (an organization related to Monsanto).

The ultimate bottom line of this bill is that by controlling even seeds, the power to grow food is handed to global seed companies like Monsanto. This would frighteningly and very quickly result in a loss of seed variety and be of clear financial benefit to the global seed companies.

This development is a huge contradiction to new movements focused on small scale initiatives that concentrate on social farming, healthy eating in a cheap manner, resulting in lower healthcare costs.

Arjun Walia, from Collective-Evolution.com, writes:

“The European Commission is changing the European Union’s plant legislation, apparently to enhance food safety across the continent. This move has sparked a heavy opposition from many, saying that the measure will threaten seed diversity and favour large agrochemical businesses. This new law creates new powers to classify and regulate all plant life anywhere in Europe.

The “Plant Reproductive Material Law” regulates all plants. It contains restrictions on vegetables and woodland trees, as well as all other plants of any species. It will be illegal to grow, reproduce, or trade any vegetable seed or tree that has not been been tested and approved by the government, more specifically the “EU Plant Variety Agency.” […] The new law basically puts the government in charge of all plants and seeds in Europe, and prevents home gardeners from growing their own plants from non-regulated seeds. If they did, they would now be considered criminals.”

The language of this bill allows the creation of no less than a “Food Gestapo” which terrorizes the citizenry with warrant less searches, seizures, and arrests with no accountability or repercussions for their actions in a court of law.

What is the exact agenda here? To enhance world health or to enlarge the wealth of companies/organizations such as Monsanto.
