Game of Thrones’ Martin: “People Are Going to Die, Who Don’t Die in the Books”

Deadliest writer in the present history of TV Series, George R.R. Martin (author of A Song of Ice and Fire) has earned a vast reputation of murdering his characters in his books. However Martin, in Writers Guild West Awards night, urged Game of Thrones fans that creators D.B.Weiss and David Benioff do plan to increase the death toll in Season 5 from what was in his books.

Martin says “People are going to die who don’t die in the books, so even the book readers will be unhappy. So everybody better be on their toes. David and D.B. are even bloodier than I am.”

Season 5 Game of Thrones will surely be a sweeping one also for fans of a Song of Ice and Fire, as TV adaptation has nearly synchronized itself with the book series. Martin will soon write another final two books, a total of 7 books as planned, but it’s very much up to Benioff, Weiss and HBO on how many more seasons will the show air.

If these two final books to be included in HBO’s Game of Thrones, we can speak of a 7th, 8th and 9th season. Let’s see how many of the main characters will be shadows and dust? Will there be a HBO-Martin 3 more years contract after he finalized the final two books, The Winds of Winter and The Dream of Spring?

Game of Thrones Season 5 premieres on HBO on April 12.
